Homestay Accommodation
Living with a British family is a great way to improve your
English while living in Manchester. Our host families are
very varied; you may stay with a single person, a family with
one child, a family with many children, a retired couple, a
young couple, family with pets, etc. All our Homestay Hosts
are inspected to British Council standards so whatever family
you live with we guarantee that they will be friendly, passionate
about helping you learn English and committed to ensuring you
have a great time in Manchester!
If you choose Homestay Accommodation with Manchester Central School
of English, you can expect:
- Your own bedroom (usually single)
- Breakfast and evening meal from Monday to Friday and three meals on weekend and public holidays (a more
independent self-catering option is available - ask for Private Home Accommodation)
- Shared bathroom and laundry facilities.
- Average of 30 minutes to Manchester Central School of English by public transport.
Shared Student Accommodation
If you want a bit more independence and to live with other students (English and International), you may be more
interested in Shared Student accommodation. This is usually a large house near the City Centre where you will have your
own (or a shared) bedroom and you will share the facilities (kitchen, bathroom and living area) with the other students
in the house. This type of accommodation is self-catering - you will need to buy and prepare all your own meals.
Halls of Residence
Halls are great places to live in the summer. They are usually very close to the City Centre and they provide an
opportunity to meet other interesting and enthusiastic students. You will normally have a private bedroom in an
apartment which is shared with a number of other students. Some have private bathrooms whilst other
halls have shared facilities. There will be other shared amenities such as kitchens and common rooms.
