CELTA - Cambridge ESOL’s Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults is one of the world’s foremost initial qualifications for people who wish to become professional teachers of English language. It is accepted throughout the world by organisations which employ English language teachers.
Cambridge ESOL works with international ELT organisations to ensure the acceptance of Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) globally. The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) course will be your passport into TEFL.
CELTA is accredited by Ofqual at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework for England.
The CELTA is divided into 4 main subject areas:

Learners and teachers, and the teaching and learning context
Language analysis and awareness
Language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing
Developing teaching skills and professionalism

On completion of the MCSE CELTA Teacher Training Course, trainees will have learnt the principles of effective teaching, gained a range of practical skills for teaching English and had valuable hands-on teaching experience.

The Manchester Central School of English offers a wide range ofEnglish courses, which include General English courses, Business English courses, IELTS courses, Cambridge Examination courses, one-to-one private English courses. All our courses are designed to be as enjoyable and motivating as possible in order to help you progress quickly and effectively.

General English English Standard

15 hours a week of General English. Students are grouped according to level. The aim is to develop your listening, speaking, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, reading and writing.

General English Intensive

15 hours a week of General English. In addition there are 5 hours a week of afternoon Skills Classes. These lessons focus on developing and improving the four skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing in social and professional situations.

General English Super Intensive

15 hours a week of General English in the mornings, 5 hours a week in the afternoons of Skills Classes and a 2 hour 1-1 class with the teacher that is tailored to meet the individual needs of the student.

Business English

15 hours a week of Business English covering topics such as; writing formal business letters, reports, emails, presentation skills, telephone techniques and English in the professional workplace.

IELTS Courses

Full time – 15 hours a week or Part time – 5 hours a week. The aim is to teach students about the IELTS exam, improve your grammar and vocabulary and also the techniques necessary in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking in order to pass the exam.

Cambridge Examination Courses

Full time – 15 hours a week or Part time – 5 hours a week. The aim is to teach students about the Cambridge exams, improve the grammar and vocabulary and also the techniques necessary in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking in order to pass the exam.

1-to-1 Courses

These are individual classes with the teacher and can be designed around the needs of the student. The tailor made course can be English for Specific Purposes, General English or Business English. As many hours as required.

Part Time English Courses

Study English on a part time basis so you can fit your learning into your busy life.

Evening Courses

The Part Time Evening English course is 6 hours a week, twice a week from 6-9 of General English.

English and Work Placement

This is for students who want to study in order to improve their language skills and also gain valuable work experience. Students have the opportunity to work towards the qualification “Cambridge Certificate in Work Experience”.

Summer Courses

During July and August the General English courses also include a full social programme with half and full day excursions every week.

Bobby Charlton Soccer & Sports Academy is famous for residential holidays for boys and girls of all ages.

It is widely known that David Beckham began his career with BCSSA when he was a boy attending our Soccer School. BCSSA coaches are passionate, knowledgeable and love the game of Soccer.

David Beckham was a star pupil at the Bobby Charlton Soccer Schools Summer Residential from 1986-1988. Bryn Cooper is a UEFA ‘A’ Licensed Coach and was Director of our courses during the time David spent with us.Bryn’s comments are interesting reading for any aspiring young soccer player.
