Why study in Manchester?

Manchester is a dynamic city with a population of approximately 2.2 million and over 100 million tourists passing through every year. It is home to an international airport with direct links to a multitude of destinations around the globe as well as having an excellent train service which provides efficient transport from Manchester City Centre to all parts of Great Britain. Manchester is also served by a tram service running to the city centre and surrounding areas.

Due to its student population of over 87000, Manchester features a thriving nightlife. It boasts many clubs, pubs and bars and its music scene is world-renowned – after all, it is the birthplace of Take That and The Smiths.

The city hosts two Premier League football teams, Manchester City and Manchester United, possibly the most famous club in the world. There are also excellent sporting facilities in the city, such as the Aquatic Centre and the Velodrome.

Manchester provides the ultimate shopping experience, from discount designer labels in the Lowry to the many seasonal markets, including the world famous Bavarian Christmas market. The Arndale Centre houses a myriad of high street bargains and Affleck’s Palace is home to many individual boutiques.
