IELTS Teacher Training

Manchester Central School of English offers an intensive 21-hour ‘IELTS Teacher-Training’ course for teachers who wish to extend their professional development. The course is delivered by experienced IELTS tutors and focuses on how to prepare students for the IELTS exam, as well as the key features for running a successful IELTS preparation course. The course is comprised of the following core elements:

Day 1: Overview of IELTS; teaching approach and differences compared to general English classes; structuring a theme-based IELTS course – the use of course books and supplementary materials; materials development and sourcing; using IT.

Day 2: Focus on IELTS Speaking & exam techniques; focus on IELTS Writing Task 1 & exam techniques.

Day 3: Focus on IELTS Writing Task 2 and exam techniques; focus on IELTS Listening and exam techniques; the importance of spelling; self-study and practice.

Day 4: Focus on IELTS Reading; focus on IELTS grammar and vocabulary; common mistakes at IELTS.
